Mid-MN Total Defense offers a family-oriented martial arts program combining Taekwondo and Karate in an upbeat, positive, and structured format. Students learn focus, discipline, and confidence while developing real-world self-defense skills through age-appropriate instruction. Classes use games, drills, and traditional training to help students respond calmly and decisively to challenges like bullying, harassment, or physical confrontation. Parents or guardians may train free alongside their child. (Testing, uniforms, and equipment not included.) Stage 1 – Beginners / Advanced Beginners (W26-Y-TKDK-BEG/ADVBEG) Learn the foundations of Taekwondo and Karate through fun, energetic sessions that emphasize power, coordination, and self-control. Students practice stances, strikes, and kicks while developing confidence and discipline. Classes take place in the small gym at the south end of the school. Parents are encouraged to join at no cost. Stage 2 – Orange & Gold Belts (W26-Y-TKDK-ORANGE&GOLDBELTS) Continue skill development while preparing for your next belt rank. Students refine technique, learn new combinations, and deepen their understanding of martial arts etiquette, attitude, and respect. Parents may continue training for free (testing fees not included). Stage 3 – Green Belts & Up (W26-Y-TKDK-GREENBELTS&UP) Advanced training focuses on strength, agility, and precision as students work toward higher ranks and black belt readiness. Techniques become more challenging and acrobatic while maintaining safety and individual limits. Classes foster encouragement, teamwork, and a strong community spirit.
